New Wheels

This is somewhat off-topic. But I've been thinking about getting a motorcycle for a number of years. And with the high price of gasoline, this seemed to be the right time. I did quite a bit of research, both on the internet and talking to a number of experienced riders. Then I enrolled myself in the Motorcycle Safety Foundation sponsored Beginner Rider's Course. This course was excellent, in every way - lot's of personal riding instruction, time on the motorcycle and relative course work. I tried hard to match the type of bike to my intended use, and ended up with a '99 BMW F650 Funduro. I also spent quite a bit of time shopping for luggage and personal riding gear. So here's the result!

The real test comes in a couple weeks on my first road trip to shoot wildflowers. Be sure to check back to see how it goes!

Sweet looking ride. I've been meaning to ask you how the training course went. Sounds like it was good.

Beautiful bike, dude! Driving 90 miles a day round-trip to work has me thinking along the same lines. I'll be interested to hear how it works out for you!
